West-Val Pharmacists are specially trained and certified for Medication Therapy Management (MTM) care. In fact our pharmacists when engaging in Medication Therapy Management (MTM) find it personally and professionally rewarding.

Under the MTM initiative each enrollee has the opportunity to consult with our accredited pharmacists for a medication checkup, designed to improve care, enhance communication among patients and providers, improve collaboration among providers, and optimize medication use that leads to improved patient outcomes. This gives the member the chance to discuss with the pharmacist all of his or her prescription and nonprescription medications, vitamins and supplements. If any problems or cost saving opportunities are discovered, the member, the pharmacist and member’s doctor work together to address them.

Patient education and compliance monitoring are also part of the ongoing services provided by personal management pharmacists.
